On March 23 and 24, 2012 the city of Angoulême, near Bordeaux, welcomed swimmers with a disability from all over France, Slovenia, Poland and other countries for this year's Championnat de France de natation handisport, the French Swimming Open for disabled athletes 2012.

For the second time since 2006 (use the following links to view previous photos: SET 1 and SET 2), the competition was held in the Nautilis centre, which is part of the city's biggest recreation complex, offering excellent conditions for swimmers with a disability.

Organized in cooperation between the National Swimming Association for athletes with a disability of France and the local club "Les Antilopes", the competition was part of the last preparations to determine the composition of the French team for the Paralympic Games 2012 in London.

Am 23. und 24. März 2012 haben in Angoulême, in der Nähe von Bordeaux, Schwimmerinnen und Schwimmer mit Behinderung aus ganz Frankreich, Belgien, Slovenien, Polen und anderen Länderen an den Französischen Winter- Schwimmeisterschaften der Behinderten teilgenommen.

Die Meisterschaften wurden zum zweiten Mal im Nautilis Zentrum ausgetragen, welches Teil der größten Naherholungsanlage im Norden der Stadt ist (Links zu 2006 Bildern: SET 1 und SET 2).

Der Wettkampf wurde dabei, wie schon beim letzten Mal, in Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Französischen Schwimmverband und dem lokalen Klub "Les Antilopes" organisiert und war einer der letzten in einer ganzen Reihe von Ausscheiden, die letztendlich über die Zusammensetzung des Französischen Schwimmteams für die Paralympics 2012 in London entscheiden.
