Between September 20 and 27, 2009, amputee athletes and athletes with other disabilities met in Elblag, near Gdansk, for the 2009 European Championships in Sitting Volleyball for men and women.
The competition was organized by the
local sitting volleyball club IKS ATAK ELBLAG and teams from all over Europe took part in the tournament.
Bosnia and Herzogovina won the Men's European Championships, while the team of the Netherlands won the women's competition.

Vom 20. bis 27. September 2009 haben in Elblag, in der Nähe von Gdansk, die diesjährigen Europameisterschaften im Sitzvolleyball stattgefunden.
An der Veranstaltung, die vom lokalen Sitzvolleyball-Klub IKS ATAK Elblag organisiert wurde, nahmen Sitzvolleyball-Teams aus ganz Europa teil.
Die Mannschaft aus Bosnien und Herzegowina ist Europameister der Herren, bei den Frauen siegte das Team aus den Niederlanden.
