Oscar Pistorius during the 2004 Netbank Games

For several days disabled athletes met in Durban, South Africa, for the 2004 Netbank Games. Athletes with disabilities took part in several sports, one of them was the young South African “blade runner” amputee sprinter Oscar Pistorius who later competed in events for single below-knee amputees and for able-bodied athletes.
